My name is Cato K!

First thing first! What's the K stand for?? Kake? Krack? Krazy?...NOTHING!

Anyway, my real name is Joshua Cataldo and I officially began to spin and dubbed CATO in 1994 while serving in the US Army as a M1A1 Abrams Tank Crewmember in Europe. While in Europe, I discovered TECHNO and the Backstreet Boys before either was big in the US. When I returned to the states, I brought my passion for techno back with me and left the Backstreet Boys in Europe.

After my time in the Army, I returned back to the Washington D.C. metro area where I am originally from. I then attended George Mason University in Fairfax, VA where I received my BA in Communications. It was then I also began to realize what I wanted to do with my life - Work in radio.

While at George Mason, I began to DJ at my fraternity's parties and later was asked to do college nights at the area's bars and nightclubs. To make a long story short, four years later...I had worked my way into the hottest clubs in Washington D.C. and earned a reputation as a true PARTY DJ playing a mix of dance, hip hop, disco, reggae, and, old school. I held a year long residence at the legendary Third Edition in Georgetown, as well as, working with area promotion companies at some of the areas biggest parties: GLOW @ Zei Club, The Spot @ Element, BUZZ @ Nation, to name a few. I also interned for the nationally syndicated sports talk show "The Sports Junkies" at WJFK.

After I graduated, I knew DC had nothing left to offer. I put my radio aspirations on hold, and set away for South Florida with about six hundred bucks in my pocket and as many records and cds I could fit in my busted Honda Civic. I landed a couple gigs on Ft. Lauderdale Beach and Boca Raton and then was hired by the family of Café Iguana's and Iguana Cantina. I think having a different sound being from DC and always trying to play a good mix of music to keep the crowd going, helped me build some great nights. Friday & Saturdays @ Iguana Cantina in the Grove and six nights a week @ Café Iguana on Ft. Lauderdale Beach during Spring Break 02 & 03 were incredible times.

While mixing before and after the Saturday Night broadcast with Party 93.1 at Iguana Cantina, I met Raul Rocdahouse and the lovely Fay. This is how I learned who to nag into giving me a job. After weeks of pestering I was offered an intern position working for free. I took it in a heartbeat. I have worked my way through the ranks and - HERE I AM! I still can't believe it. I still have a long long way to go, but I know DREAMS DO COME TRUE!
